I have one daughter, three sons, a husband and a dog. I have a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and will be completing my Masters Degree in Public Administration Fall 2013. The things that I love doing most are speaking to anyone who will listen about natural hair, singing, watching old (I mean old like black and white) movies, cooking, eating, and just living life to the fullest. I started this blog because I went natural and wanted to look back at how I transitioned into this new person, with healthy natural (chemical-free) hair. I am a 40-year-old wife and mother of 4 who always makes every attempt to live life to the fullest. I also own an online natural hair product boutique in Austin, Texas. My boutique opened in March 2013. We have started small and intend on growing as time goes on. By the end of 2013 we hope to have our brick and mortar location so that Austin area naturals are able to visit us for their natural hair care needs.
Going natural was not what I thought it would be. It really changed everything! I took more interest in what I was putting in my hair, what I was eating and how I looked. It really did change me as a whole
as clichéd as that sounds.
This blog is intended to be a small part of my journal on how I transitioned and I hope that it can be guide for others contemplating going natural, those who are newly natural and of course those veteran naturals that already have this thing down.
